Our company is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will understand account level journal entries, bank reconciliations and various aspects of the inventory life cycle, from receiving invoices to price testing inventory values. The staff accountant will be responsible for maintaining schedules, reconciliations and journal entries that supports the month end and year end procedures.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile bank statements including all cash and expense postings to the checkbooks.
- Review daily exception reports for inventory receipts to ensure timely and accurate inventory postings.
- Execute stock price testing of inventory utilizing FOB Shipping point and landed cost matrix.
- Prepare daily cash reports to reflect prior day inflows and outflows.
- Liaison between organization and bank to resolve inquires related to the positive pay exceptions and cleared checks.
- Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger.
- Review and process employee expense reports for payroll payment release.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes as it relates to accounts payable.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
Strong knowledge of inventory invoice processes, landed costs, unit of measure calculations and three-way-match.
Experience with accounting software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics or similar software
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with external and internal stakeholders.
