The Accountant is responsible for functions related to the preparation of financial statements. This includes the coordination of the month end close process and the approval of transactions posted to the General Ledger. May provides financial information to management by analyzing accounting data and preparing reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee month end close process.
- Compile information to prepare journal entries and enter into accounting system.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations for cash accounts.
- Assist in monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Review and approve transactions before posting to the General Ledger.
- Prepare invoices and reports for active contracts and grants.
- Assist in coordination of audits with external auditors.
- Process biweekly payroll and review reports for accuracy.
- Download biweekly and quarterly payroll reports.
- Import payrolls into accounting system.
- Make 403(b) contributions and loan payments.
- Complete monthly reconciliation of benefits related balance sheet accounts.
- Review and reconcile daily cash receipts from all sites and Billing.
- Prepare journal entries and enter into accounting system.
- Research any problems and discrepancies.
- Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with Abilia MIP, Sage or other similar accounting software.
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate in both verbal and written form.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 2 years of accounting experience or bookkeeping experience in healthcare preferred.
