A challenging opportunity is available for a self-motivated, detail-oriented team player to fill the position of Accountant IV at the Florida Park Service District 1 Administrative Office. The office is located in St. Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach, Florida. This position reports to the Operations Management Consultant II.

Pay:
$3,014.90 month/$36,178.71 annual
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Compliance with the processing requirements of Chapter 215.422, F.S. is mandatory. Persistent failure to comply with this section by any agency of the state shall constitute good cause for discharge of employees duly found responsible, or predominantly responsible, for failure to comply.
This position reports to the OMC II-SES and performs professional accounting work by designing, implementing, and maintaining accounting and budgeting records and procedures for a Florida Park Service (FPS) District.
Maintains an accounting system(s) for revenue, expense, OCO, OPS, FCO, and special budget categories for all units within an FPS District. Maintains accurate records of all expenditures and balances. Initiates and processes MFMP direct orders, p-card transactions and performs purchase and expenditure audits.
Monitors budgets, conducts monthly reconciliation, and prepares reports by the given deadline of each month to accurately reflect expenditures, projections, surpluses, deficits, and allocation adjustments for the preceding month.
Issues MFMP direct orders and requisitions. Determines commodity and contractual needs, to include the preparation of bid specifications. Monitors Park purchasing practices to ensure adherence to Department procedures.
Provides instruction and training regarding the FPS budget process to District and Park Management staff.
Coordinates the preparation of the legislative budget request for an FPS District.
Assists District Office and Park Managers in accurately tracking expenditures.
Provides evaluations and analysis on internal and external audit criticisms and prepares responses. Prepares budget amendments.
Develops criteria and procedures to be used in evaluating budget programs. Makes recommendations to OMC II regarding accounting/budgetary changes necessary to maintain budget-financial integrity of an FPS District.
Analyzes budget reports from Park, Division, and Department Offices to determine accuracy, effectiveness, and procedural compliance.
Performs other related duties as required.
