Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
Under general supervision, performs the review and audit of the accounts payable batches that are processed by the Invoice Processing Team, submission of the AP Batch Review documents to System Control, batching the invoice images and performing the upload of the batches to GAD, process the vendor maintenance documents for UMCP, UMCES, USM, and Shady Grove. Respond to customer inquiries that are submitted to the central AP email account and interface with GAD for any issues related to the batch submission. Learn and become acclimated with the process of Workday, which will replace KFS.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field with a minimum of nine (9) credits in Accounting.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to apply basic analytical skills; to operate manual and automated office equipment, personal computers and financial software to input data; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to prepare and present working papers and supporting documentation.

Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

- Four years accounting/clerical/personal computer experience.
- Experience working in a large university setting or complex organization is strongly desired.
- Strong data entry skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to communicate effectively.
- Thorough knowledge of bookkeeping principles, mathematical computations, using analytical techniques to reconcile financial data, reviewing and processing financial documents, operating calculators, basic personal computers and related software, including Microsoft Suite. and preparing written records and reports.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to train others in assigned accounting & clerical work
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships
- Ability to operate manual and automated office equipment and possess the ability to navigate through web-based and mainframe computer applications.
