Compensation: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
Property Management company in Ellicott City seeks a Property Accountant for our portfolio of homeowners and condominium associations. This position will take responsibility for all accounting related to our managed properties and will report directly to the Controller.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare and examine financial statements for up to 75 associations.
· Compose/deliver customized emails regarding financials to all associations.
· Coordinate preparation of Tax Returns with CPAs, and other financial reports.
· Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets.
· Coordinate engagement letters for taxes/audits.
· Assist with preparation of audits with CPA, providing all need documentation.
· Create new processes to improve financial efficiency.
· Review/Assist in creation of Annual Budgets.
· Supervise monthly transfers.
· Oversee delinquency/Collections.
· Track Reserve Funding
· Oversee Investments/Cash Management for all associations.
· Prepare Personal Property Returns annually.
· Perform month and year end processes for all associations.
· Meet with and answer questions for all boards of directors as needed.
· Open new bank accounts, and investments as needed and required.
· Download and reconcile bank statements in accounting system.
· Provide support for property managers.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in accounting
· Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
· Experience with current computer accounting software and reporting tools
· Detail and deadline-oriented
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong communication skills
Depending on how future duties are divided, accounts receivable and setup of new properties/residents, as well as creation of coupons/statements may be part of the requirements. Processing in-house invoices and checks may also be required. Candidates may also be asked to perform general accounting tasks associated with a Construction Company located within the same office.
The successful candidate will be a motivated and capable professional who can work both independently and as part of a team. This position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. Prior experience using Jenark/CINC is a plus.
