Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
This role involves the intricate management of accounting and data reconciliation tasks within the campus financial systems, specifically The Kuali Financial System/Workday Accounting System, to align seamlessly with the State of Maryland’s accounting system, RSTARS. The responsibilities cover multiple campuses, including UMCP, UMES, UMCES, USG, and USM.
Primary duties include:
- Redistributing inter-agency transactions from RSTARS.
- Overseeing Courtesy Certificates of Deposits.
- Handling State Agency payments through RSTARS.
- Ensuring the precise correction and release of Accounts Payable batches into RSTARS.
The role also encompasses managing vendor updates in both KFS and RSTARS, with a focus on fostering communication across all UM campuses and State of Maryland accounting offices. The objective is to proactively address discrepancies, engage in solution-oriented discussions, and facilitate the resolution of variances between interface transactions and RSTARS data.
Furthermore, the role extends to reviewing and optimizing business processes, conducting thorough data analysis, and serving as a subject matter expert for the System Control reconciliation module within the Kuali Financial System/Workday Accounting System. This multifaceted position demands a comprehensive understanding of financial systems and a proactive approach to ensure accuracy and efficiency in reconciliation processes.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or related fields.
Experience:
Two years of increasing accounting and analytics experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Prepare and maintain written records and reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Work independently with little supervision.
- Train others in assigned accounting, and clerical work.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships.
- Operate manual and automated office equipment.
- Create management reporting tools.
- Write and research policies, and procedures, as well as solutions.
Preferences:
Preferences:
- Experience with Kuali Financial Systems and working knowledge of FMIS/RSTARS, Accounting principles.
- General knowledge of how the System Control function relates to the UM campuses accounting process.

Additional Information:
Target Hiring Range: $60,900 – $76,200. The salary range will be commensurate to the experience level of the applicant.
