Hamilton Enterprises, LLC, a CPA, Management, and IT consulting firm, is seeking qualified and available Accountant to support a Federal client in Washington, DC. The position is full-time and contract.
Job Description:
- Assist in real and personal property program assessments of business processes, documenting process narratives and related flow charts and assessing their design effectiveness, consistent with audit and accounting professional standards. This includes evaluating key controls and evaluating risks to the property system of record.
- Support in testing of controls to ensure they meet the control objective and mitigation of risk to the property system of record and related financial reporting.
- Assist with assessing and strengthening internal controls relating to client’s operations that have real and personal property management, reporting and/or associated financial impact.
- Support in analyses related to new regulatory requirements, and the design and execution of implementation strategies.
- Assist with the evaluation of accuracy and completeness of capital property assets in all system of records, reports, and other documentation used to inform a related control or decision point.
- Assist with briefing assessment conclusions to the responsible process owners, client’s management and stakeholders.

Mandatory qualifications:
- Currently hold, or able to obtain and maintain, DHS fitness determination
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or applicable related field or Certified Public Accountant. An additional 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree/certification.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) preferred but required
Required experience and expertise:
- Minimum of three (3) to eight (8) years of experience in providing expertise regarding DHS Chief Financial Officers’ (CFO) Act; Federal Managers’ Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA) and its implementing guidelines, OMB Circular A-123, Management’s Responsibility for Internal Control; the Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FFMIA); the DHS Financial Accountability Act (DHS FAA); and other statutes governing internal controls
