OVERVIEW
The Oyster Sunday (OS) Accountant provides comprehensive solutions to enhance the operations and financial performance of our clients' businesses. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and financial management, coupled with a deep understanding of the hospitality industry. This is a contracted position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis of clients' operations, including but not limited to income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Collaborate with clients to develop annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and hospitality industry benchmarks.
- Implement cost control measures and recommend strategies to optimize expenses while maintaining quality standards and profitability.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for clients, highlighting key performance indicators and actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Ensure clients' adherence to tax regulations and deadlines, providing guidance on tax planning strategies and optimization opportunities.
- Establish and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard assets, mitigate risks, and maintain financial integrity.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic financial guidance and recommendations tailored to their specific needs and challenges.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously enhance service offerings and deliver maximum value to clients.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms), POS systems, and restaurant inventory software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and the team at all levels.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all deliverables.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
