Accountant

OVERVIEW

The Oyster Sunday (OS) Accountant provides comprehensive solutions to enhance the operations and financial performance of our clients' businesses. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and financial management, coupled with a deep understanding of the hospitality industry. This is a contracted position. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis of clients' operations, including but not limited to income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Collaborate with clients to develop annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and hospitality industry benchmarks. 
• Implement cost control measures and recommend strategies to optimize expenses while maintaining quality standards and profitability.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for clients, highlighting key performance indicators and actionable insights to support decision-making. 
• Ensure clients' adherence to tax regulations and deadlines, providing guidance on tax planning strategies and optimization opportunities.
• Establish and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard assets, mitigate risks, and maintain financial integrity. 
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic financial guidance and recommendations tailored to their specific needs and challenges. 
• Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously enhance service offerings and deliver maximum value to clients.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality industry. 
• Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms), POS systems, and restaurant inventory software. 
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and draw meaningful conclusions. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and the team at all levels. 
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all deliverables. 
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. 
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
