Accountant

A growing Am Law 200 law firm is actively seeking a Staff Accountant to join its Columbia, MD office. The Staff Accountant reports to the Assistant Controller and is responsible for performing accounting functions in the General Ledger and Treasury categories.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare daily cash report package to include reconciliation of affiliate A/R
• Ensure accuracy of coding for items posted to the general ledger
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements each month and follow up regarding variances
• Maintain asset listing and depreciation schedules
• Prepare monthly & quarterly bank compliance reports to ensure adherence to all covenants
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with firm guidelines and requirements
• Manage journal entries, invoices, etc. and reconcile accounts for monthly and annual close
• Assist in the development and maintenance of general ledger expense allocation methods amongst multiple offices
• Perform ongoing financial analysis of operational functions
• Facilitate and track tax payments to federal, state, and local entities
• Maintain positive pay files for checks and ACH
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree required
• High proficiency with Excel and other financial applications
• CPA Preferred, but not required
