Accountant

Ground/Water Treatment & Technology, LLC (GWTT) is a leading environmental contractor located in Wharton, NJ. We offer design/build services for temporary and permanent treatment systems, and operation and maintenance services for a variety of soil, groundwater, and wastewater treatment systems. GWTT provides construction, dewatering, remediation, and environmental construction services. GWTT is looking to fill an Accountant position in Wharton, New Jersey. The role will report directly to the Corporate Controller.
Primary Duties:
Develop and implement technology that provides real-time financial reporting tools (dashboards, BI) that provide project management team with direct access to project financial data
Administration of the company's weekly payroll process and reconciliation of payroll tax and benefits accounts
Involvement with payroll and corporate tax matters as needed
Support project management team with project reviews, cash flow analysis, change order processing and month-end accruals
Create ad hoc reports and infographics as needed
Participate in various daily, weekly and monthly tasks to complete the month-end close
Investigate and troubleshoot outliers in general ledger and job cost records
Assist in general ledger detail and trend analysis
Work with outside auditors to provide information and analysis required to perform annual audits
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
Minimum of five years of relevant experience in public accounting or private industry
Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, consolidations, ASC Topic 606, ASC Topic 842, percentage of completion accounting and financial reporting
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Ability to meet firm deadlines
Detail oriented and commitment to, and understanding of, the importance of reporting accurate figures
Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks concurrently
Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Experience and Proficiency navigating complex ERP and BI systems
Knowledge of SQL a plus
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, a clean driving record and must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
