The Account Manager’s job is to perform duties and maintain quality service that supports our Risk Management accounts, including clients, insurance companies, and producers. This position is responsible for supporting a book of generalist and legacy accounts by managing renewals, marketing accounts, and a large focus on client service.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately manage client accounts and ensure all deadlines are met
- Assist in marketing and placing new business and/or renewal business while maintaining process per workflows
- Ensure service levels are being met
- Seek opportunities and take steps to increase knowledge of the industry, regulatory requirements, tools and resources available to assist clients
- Answer questions from the producer and the service teams regarding accounts
- Communicate with the clients and answer questions regarding provided policies and/or services
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients and carriers, both internal and external
- Meets with clients as needed or directed by the producer
- Travel or visit insurance companies and/or clients, when necessary
- Assist in the creation of materials needed for recurring client meetings
- Continuously seek to identify opportunities & solutions that allow for more effective and efficient delivery of a top-quality client experience
- Serve as a subject matter expert for niche and/or industry specialization
- Coordinate & direct firm resources such as Claims, Legal, Safety, Marketing, and/or Technology, when necessary
- Manage book of business with a pro-active client service approach
- Round out coverage for accounts in collaboration with the service team or independently, as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED required, two or four-year degree preferred
- Experience in the insurance industry required
- Property & Casualty Insurance license required
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic PowerPoint functions
- Prior customer service experience required
- Understand the different processes/forms associated with the varying coverages and insurers
- Experience working with EPIC Agency Management Software preferred
