JOB TITLE: Personal Lines – Account Manager
DEPARTMENT:Private Client Practice - Tier 1
REPORTS TO: Team Lead, Personal Lines
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY: The Account Manager, a client interacting position, through a consultative approach, handles the complex aspects associated with day-to-day servicing of existing clients in the Private Client Practice. Along with ensuring quality execution of traditional policy servicing, primary responsibilities include responding to clients requests and inquiries, recommending additional coverages, tweaking and presenting annual renewal reviews, proactive midyear touch points, determining best carrier and program option, and negotiating and securing program options from alternative markets. When applicable, this position will guide clients through claims situations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct virtual, in person or phone call pre renewal state of the market conversations and determine renewal strategy with the client.
- Perform annual coverage and risk reviews to ensure the adequacy of the client’s program design. Proactively make coverage recommendations and share findings with Advisor and client.
- Proactively manage client life events through scheduled touch points.
- Assume complete responsibility for market strategy including gathering and organizing appropriate information required to market accounts, obtaining renewal quotes, creating proposal presentations, negotiating coverage and pricing, and issuing policies with carrier for existing clients.
- Build relationships and maintain positive communication with company underwriters.
- Work in concert with Advisors as a contact for all complex insurance questions and policy changes
- Review policies and endorsements for accuracy of coverage, policy content, and attached forms
- Assume first point of contact for all claims including offering advice on reporting claims, setting expectations for the claims process, monitoring progress of claims, review and challenge settlement values, and when needed, elevating problems and stalled claims to adjuster supervisor.
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of data in Epic, including attaching all coverage related documents to electronic client files. Document content of all calls, questions, and meetings.
- When opportunity arises, develop new clients and/or new lines of coverage for existing clients
- Be available to travel offsite to meet with clients, prospects, and insurance company personnel
- Attend and participate in department meetings as well as other meetings as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- A four-year college degree preferred, or equivalent years of industry experience in a similar position
- Possession and maintenance of Property and Casualty Insurance license for the State of Colorado, or willingness to attain
- Professional designation in insurance programs such as ARM, CIC, CPCU, CRM preferred
- Proactive participation in continuing education classes
Work Experience:
- Experience in working with and knowledge of affluent carriers preferred
- Working knowledge of Applied Epic beneficial
- 5+ years of industry and technical experience in a similar, client facing position preferred
FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Strong written, presentation, interpersonal, organizational, time management and oral communication skills. Ability to apply technical knowledge in insurance coverages, terminology, and concepts

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:This position has no supervisory responsibility
WORK ENVIRONMENT:This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, tablets, phones, multi-function printers and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or listen, frequently stand; walk; sit for extended periods of time, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. COMPENSATION INFORMATION:
- Pay Range: (Dependent on experience and/or qualifications): $70,000- $90,000
- Total Compensation = base salary, overtime pay, bonuses, commissions, benefits, and any other cash or non-cash compensation.
