Overview
This position's primary responsibility is to serve as the day-to-day expert on a book of business and the point of contact for clients while maintaining a high level of client and internal team satisfaction. The Account Manager will assist one or more Account Executives in coordinating the details for the annual renewal, preparing materials for quarterly client meetings, ensuring the flow of information to other departments as needed, maintaining client databases, records management, project-specific assignments, and other responsibilities in support of client satisfaction as assigned.
Key responsibilities
  • Work with Account Executives and Consultants to onboard new business and complete renewal processes by following workflow procedures and best practices.
  • Accurately maintain complete client files including the clear documentation of account detail in agency management systems, including policy information, activities, attachments, and correspondence.
  • Work with Account Executives, Consultants and other internal departments to execute the service strategy for each client.
  • Assist in the RFP process, spreadsheet and compare carrier proposals, and provide a summary of programs and options that are designed to support clients in making decisions about insurance programs.
  • Help build and deliver Open Enrollment and New Hire presentations.
  • Remain current on vendor/carrier plans and programs, industry trends, and legislation.
  • Consistently follow client service workflows and appropriately engage internal resources and escalate as necessary.
  • Respond to client inquiries and respond appropriately and professionally via multiple channels of communication such as phone, email, and occasional in-person meetings.
  • Provide excellent service and support for internal and external clients (including but not limited to claims, billing, enrollment, and benefit inquiries).
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships by collaborating with coworkers and insurance carriers.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • The individual is required to be a self-reliant, highly efficient, and organized person with strong problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail combined with strong comprehension and self-motivated execution of detailed instructions
  • Strong, clear written and verbal communication skills, plus good interpersonal skills including a collaborative approach to problem-solving and pro-active attention to the impact that financial decision may have on clients
  • Strong experience developing relationships
  • Experience collaborating with carriers and vendors
  • Good understanding of the interaction between the carriers, vendors, and human resources functions, demonstrated success at working with HR as a peer.
  • Active learner and user of new software

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • State Life and Health Licensed or obtain within 90 days of employment
  • Knowledge of medical, dental, vision, and ancillary benefits is required
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft TEAMS and Zoom
  • HRIS system familiarity is a plus
  • Ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have a sense of urgency, be a problem solver and team player, be organized, able to multi-task, and be an excellent communicator
