Overview

The Account Manager (AM) is responsible for building and maintaining long-term relationships with Academic Impressions' members through proactive partnership and engagement, while identifying and promoting new sales opportunities within their member base. The AM will manage, maintain, and grow a portfolio of accounts with the intent of ensuring Academic Impressions is an integral part of each member's professional development operation. This role requires strong relationship management skills, exceptional oral and written communication, and technical savvy, as well as an understanding of Higher Education. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who possesses a strategic, growth mindset, with a curiosity to understand the many nuances of Higher Education.


This position will be responsible for managing accounts across the country, but with a focus on institutions in the Pacific and Mountain time zones. Flexibility to work occasional west-coast hours when needed is required.


Job Duties:

  • Operates as the primary point of contact for assigned Accounts, understanding the unique and varying needs and motivations of each member institution and how AI is uniquely positioned to help address their strategic goals
  • Proactively develops and maintains strategic relationships with stakeholders at member institutions to create awareness of the benefits of membership, drive engagement, and grow and expand each partnership
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining the partnership with member universities from launch to renewal, including:
  • Conduct a high-quality onboarding experience for new Members through a combination of email communication, phone calls, and video calls
  • Monitor and identify gaps in engagement across campus and develop engagement plans to address these gaps
  • Consult with members about the professional development needs for themselves and their teams, partnering with internal experts as necessary to strategically address these needs
  • Identify sales & renewal opportunities and lead partnership conversations with each account
  • Identify and address patterns involving member questions, concerns, and needs to continually improve the Membership product and our external communications
  • Collaborate across internal teams
  • Maintain internal documentation and communication in customer relationship management tool
  • Analyze raw usage and impact data and develop annual impact reports for each Account that demonstrates the value of the partnership with AI


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience and advanced understanding of the complexities of the higher ed industry strongly preferred
  • Adept at identifying and developing strategic growth opportunities for member accounts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience building and maintaining relationships that will advance campus partnerships
  • Intrinsically motivated with the ability to balance competing projects, timelines, and a variety of internal and external needs
  • Ability and willingness to sell new products and services - B2B sales experience preferred
  • Ability to analyze complex data and translate into impact reports for members
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Bachelor's degree required

Salary Range: $55,000-70,000


Location: This position is open to Denver-metro area based candidates OR candidates working remotely in the U.S.
