PURPOSE: We are seeking a highly skilled Billing Account Manager to join our team within the carrier management sector. This role will work closely with the carrier Client Relationship Manager to ensure seamless billing processes for voluntary benefits within our enrollment benefits platform. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in billing management, particularly within the insurance or benefits industry. The Billing Account Manager will also play a key role in fostering strong relationships with clients and carriers, ensuring effective communication and alignment of billing strategies. This position offers the opportunity to drive innovation in efficiency in billing practices, contributing to the overall success of our enrollment benefits platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the setup and implementation of new clients on the enrollment benefits platform, ensuring accurate billing configurations.
- Assist with designing and conducting training sessions on site or via webinar.
- Oversee all aspects of billing operations, including invoice generation, payment processing, and reconciliation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding billing inquiries, discrepancies, and reporting, providing timely and accurate responses.
- Maintain the integrity and functionality of the enrollment benefits platform, performing routine updates, data audits, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to billing accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of billing processes, procedures, and client interactions, ensuring adherence to audit standards.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency gains in billing workflows.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to foster collaboration, trust, and long-term partnerships.
- Provide updates to the Manager to ensure awareness of changes within client and carrier relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience or track record of managing client relationships.
- Proficient in billing software systems and Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to identify and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate billing and adherence to payer requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, and carriers.
- Ability to collaborate with internal teams such as finance, customer service, and technology team to streamline billing processes.
- Capability to analyze billing data, trends, and performance metrics to optimize revenue cycle management.
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in regulations, software systems, and organizational procedures.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in health administration, Business, or related field desired. Proven industry experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree.
- A minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in billing, preferably within the healthcare or insurance industry
