Job Description
This is a part-time, temporary/seasonal position. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis to establish an applicant pool. As vacancies occur, they are filled from the pool.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of application and interview process.
- Recommendation from instructor or advisor.
- Ability to fulfill the time demands of the internship.
- Successful completion of career awareness and exploration activities.
- Enrolled in ACCEL as an Adult Basic Education student at NRS level 4 and above preparing for the high school equivalency exam (HiSET or GED).
- Commit to taking the HiSET or GED within six months.
- Maintain ACCEL enrollment eligibility by maintaining at least 70% attendance in ACCEL class(es) and completing all required pre and post assessments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactively engage in maintaining smooth efficient operations of the program and provide service to students and faculty while upholding the mission and goals of the college and the ACCEL program.
EXPECTATIONS:

- Be punctual, professional, dependable, and complete assigned work.
- Ask questions of workplace supervisors.

- Complete individual reflection assignments and engage in post-internship reflection activities.

Duties:
- Provide general support to the program by assisting full-time staff.
- Organize files and perform filing duties as needed.
- Shadow and assist members of team including the Director and full-time administrative staff.
- Greet and assist visitors to the department.
- Assist test-takers by setting up tests on computer.
- Maintain supplies for copier, fax machine, and shredder. Fill paper in copier, shred documents in bin, empty shredder.
- Assist with registrations, orientations, and other student-related activities as assigned.
- Replenish media centers (fliers).
- Maintain student supplies and work area: sharpen pencils, empty sharpeners, stock scratch paper, clean and sanitize work surfaces including tables, keyboards, mice, computers.
- General cleaning of space including dusting, vacuuming, and clearing the refrigerator.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
