Job Description
As an Academy Teacher, you will be reporting directly to the Clinic Director and will be responsible for teaching small groups (up to 10 students) in a multi-grade classroom, grade levels 3rd to 6th. You will be responsible for teaching curriculum consistent with state standards; adhering to evidence-based and research-based practices, and adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and developmental needs of each student.
Responsibilities:
Preparing lesson plans, units, and projects to complete learning objectives.
Establishing and communicating clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
Complete training in all four NOW! Company programs to implement in the classroom.
Providing individual instruction to students as needed.
Creating, assigning, and grading student-appropriate assessments including tests, quizzes, and projects.
Tracking and evaluating student academic progress.
Communicating academic progress regularly to parents and the Clinic Director.
Participating in parent meetings with the Clinic Director.
Communicating and collaborating with academic instructors, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals as needed to make appropriate instructional decisions for students.
Using Google Classroom or the TMC Academy’s chosen online platforms to communicate with students and parents to post assignments and communicate grades.
Establishing and enforcing rules of behavior from the Academy Student Code of Conduct for students
Maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, coworkers, and supervisors.
Creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
