Job description

The Academic Testing Coordinator(s) (Coordinator III) coordinates administrative functions of Academic Testing within the educational system of USU. This role involves coordinating the scheduling, administration, and processing of various academic tests, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures, and providing support to the Testing Manager, students, faculty, and staff involved in the testing process. The Academic Testing Coordinator(s) also plays a key role in maintaining test security, managing testing materials, and analyzing student and instructor feedback to inform decision-making and improve testing outcomes. Hours: Mon – Fri 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.


  • Coordinate between students, faculty, and staff to ensure that students receive appropriate exam accommodations.
  • Answer questions and resolve concerns about exam accommodation policy and procedure via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Create additional training materials for students, faculty, and staff to inform about applicable policies and procedures.
  • Maintain detailed exam records using the Materials and Testing Services system. Monitor the exam accommodation process to ensure procedures used are effective. Provide feedback for and adjust established processes as needed for improvement. Utilize assistive technology as needed to provide students access to their exams.
  • Assist in hiring, training and supervision of hourly employees. Ensure that hourly staff follow an established process for administering and tracking exam materials and information.
  • Maintain computer hardware and software in the Testing Area. Project staffing needs based on number of exams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four years of office experience; OR four years of education; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience creating, composing, and editing written and electronic material with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge and experience of university policy and procedures.
  • Experience with university systems (e.g. Banner, Canvas, MATS).
  • Ability to multi-task and efficiently manage multiple inquires via phone, email, online chat, and in-person.
  • Ability to maintain a professional manner while providing a friendly office atmosphere for students, faculty, and administrators in a high stress environment, with excellent conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Minimum $32,000; Commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits
