Position Summary
  • The Academic Partnership Executive is an exciting sales role, integral to delivering ISC2's academic partnership strategy through effective consultative sales and building strong relationships with academic institutions and community colleges, for the benefit of students gaining ISC2 certifications. Reporting to the Manager of Academic partnerships, this role will require the post holder to be passionate about achieving their sales quota and hit our targets as well as supporting academic teams in academic institutions to work with ISC2 to offer our certifications and other relevant products; thereby preparing students for their future career and employability.
Responsibilities

Consultative Sales / Business Development and Relationship Building

 

  • Actively engage academics in understanding the opportunities that the full suite of ISC2 Certifications and products can provide to new and existing schools/ faculties, colleges, universities and their students.
  • Promote the link between our certifications and how they support and prepare students to build their future in cybersecurity.
  • Achieve sales quota and close Academic Partnerships
  • Work with the ISC2 Marketing team, for any collateral needed to persuade academic partners and students.
  • Support with the delivery of ISC2 webinars to encourage students to complete our certifications.
  • Utilize our Sales Force CRM tool for effective partnerships management - updating contact details and notes within 24 hours of meetings with academic institutions and partners.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Operations team to jointly create monthly account reports to update internal stakeholders on issues and risks.
  • To be responsible for the reporting and monitoring of the partnership income targets, and the suggestions of any necessary interventions and opportunities to ensure that the growth forecasts are met.
  • Work as part of the academic partnership growing team to proactively identify and generate sources of local income.
  • Manage and monitor KPIs and local contracts associated with the above tasks through the strategic plan set out by the Manager, Academic partnerships and Associate Director, Channel Partnerships.

 

Account Management

  • To be the primary communication channel for new and existing academic partners allocated to your portfolio.
  • Establish and maintain key partnerships (internal and external) to oversee the successful delivery of our certifications and services in both formal and informal academic settings.
  • Monitor and communicate partner expectations as required.

 

Academic Partner Operational & Cybersecurity Sector Support

  • To provide specialist advice, guidance and expertise to partners and colleagues relating to ISC2 certifications.
  • To represent Academic Partnerships at appropriate external bodies, University or government Committees and working groups such as advocacy events. To troubleshoot, and/or resolve non-standard issues, problem-solve and to propose and implement improvements to current working methods/practices, continually developing knowledge in the area and recommending changes to ISC2 processes as required in liaison with academic partners.
  • To work closely with the team members to ensure outstanding delivery of all aspects of our partnerships offer. Timely and accurate Information and reporting are critical aspects of this service.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of higher education sector and understanding of transnational education.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance, Higher Education policies and procedures, to enable interpretation and provision of guidance and advice to partners, faculties and services.
  • Knowledge of the cybersecurity certification market preferred
  • Experience using CRM systems and account management techniques to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with channel partners, and our internal team members alike, exhibiting focus and drive for business building and working collaboratively with ISC2 employees to grow the business
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and presentation skills with an ability to build strong relationships with both internal/external partners, clients, and teams
  • Demonstrated track record of success supporting, building and maintaining partner base
  • Experience of high level problem solving and ability to develop and deliver contingency plans.
  • Understands marketplace, works to meet prospect/customer needs
  • Effective organizational skills - keeps information organized and accessible, maintains appropriate documentation/notes in systems, manages time well
  • Detail oriented, maintains high-quality standards, and good follow-up skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team of a geographically dispersed members to accomplish work and projects
Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; will consider relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 5 years' experinece in a quota carrying sales role. 
  • Preference for experience in college and university partnership development, implementation and management
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Work extended hours when necessary.
  • Up to 20% travel may be required.
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting, for prolonged periods
  • Regular use of office equipment such as a computer/laptop and monitor computer screens
