Job Description
Position Summary: The Occupational Therapy Department was founded in 1941, with a mission of providing a professional education resulting in skilled hands-on practitioners who are client-centered and occupation-centered in their approach to practice. The department offers both professional-entry and post-professional M.S. and OTD programs. An Academic Fieldwork Coordinator in Occupational Therapy is a core faculty member responsible for the coordination, oversight, and management of fieldwork placements for students in the professional entry program (75% release time for duties) and teaching of graduate courses (25% of duties), as well as supervising and advising students, and engaging in scholarly activity.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, oversee, and manage fieldwork placements for professional entry Occupational Therapy students
- Teach graduate courses
- Supervise students in off-site fieldwork placements
- Advise students
- Attend department and university meetings, and participate in university committee work
- Engage in scholarly activities
- Perform other duties, responsibilities, or work on special projects as assigned
Skills and Experience:
- Strong Occupational Therapy clinical practice experience; 3 years of experience minimum
- Previous experience teaching in higher education strongly preferred; may consider other relevant teaching experience
- Documented Occupational Therapy expertise in area(s) of teaching responsibility and knowledge of the content delivery method provided
- Terminal degree in Occupational Therapy or related field strongly preferred; may consider candidates with progress towards a terminal degree
- Wisconsin state licensure in Occupational Therapy required or eligibility for a Wisconsin state license
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of established professional codes of ethics and best practices for faculty in higher education required
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusiveness and cultural competence; experience working with underrepresented students and students from at-risk backgrounds
- Experience and understanding of current issues and developments in higher education
- Outstanding verbal, writing, and presentation skills; must be able to communicate and interact effectively with Mount Mary students, employees, and alumnae
- Exceptional ability to multitask and prioritize projects
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse groups, facilitate group process and foster collaborative decision making
- Knowledge of ACOTE accreditation standards strongly preferred
Qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapy clinical practice experience of at least three years.
- Previous higher education teaching experience, but will consider other relevant teaching experience.
- Occupational therapist with an earned post-professional doctoral degree.
- Wisconsin state licensure in Occupational Therapy or eligibility for Wisconsin licensure.
Physical Demands:
- May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.

- Some repetitive motion may be required
Working Conditions:
- Can be scheduled for up to 40 hours a week
- Varying workflow; sometimes stressful with high workload times of the year
