Academic Coordinator
Position Description
Manage data collection for Academics to include Nursing Programs by:
- Creating and managing an organized database by using surveys to gather detailed data for annual reports, Exit Surveys, and Course Evaluations from faculty
- Retain data from students and build a positive relationship with alumni to obtain surveys and feedbacks.
- Assist in strategic planning and coordination of projects focused on strengthening nursing programs.
- Analyze what other local schools are doing in their programs in terms of curriculum, recruitment, and innovation.
- Work with program leadership to analyze data for end of year program reviews, and accreditation reports.
Essential Functions
1. Maintain, coordinate and process confidential documents and information (course evaluation syllabi, faxes, mail). Conduct research on programs, degree plans, curriculum content and other institutional data as requested.
2. Serve as liaison between Faculty, Administration, and other departments, as necessary.
3. Communicate effectively and frequently with management about successes, issues, barriers, and other matters.
Provide timely and accurate execution of assigned administrative and other duties.
4. Assist and help identify all resources needed for courses in a timely fashion.
5. Contact students to discuss attendance and / or academic concerns.
6. Coordinate with registrar, department heads, nursing, and academic directors to update and maintain current student records and academic information in database.
7. Communicate and direct student issues and concerns to appropriate personnel in organization.
8. Attend orientation, graduation, and other student service functions as representative of academic department.
9. To ensure all faculty are here for their classes and have what they need to facilitate them.
10. Schedule appointments for Academic Director and organize faculty meetings.
11. Prepare teaching agreements for adjunct in all programs.
12. Review new hire packets for faculty to ensure all necessary documents are received to process faculty and create their file.
13. Attend academics department meetings and record minutes.
14. Assign classrooms via Zoom and prepare links for each class offering and reserve rooms for campus/virtual events.
15. Distribute and reprint rosters generated by the Registrar’s Office during all semesters.
16. Assist academic and nursing directors to ensure student/ faculty/ institution evaluations are conducted on time.
17. Assist department with attendance verification for new starts and unregistered students.
18. Assist departments by coordinating with faculty regarding un-posted attendance and grades.
19. Follow other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS / ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES:
Minimum Graduate Level Degree in related field.
- 2 years experience in Higher Education.
- Strong computer skills.
- Customer focused, detail and goal oriented.
- Excellent communication, organizations, interpersonal and time management skills.
- Flexibility and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Computer proficient in word processing and other related office tools.
- Knowledge of basic research databases.
- University/College research is a plus.
- Excellent communication, telephone, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as under supervision and as part of a team.
- Must be detail-oriented and accurate.
- Must work efficiently.
- Must be very service oriented and very flexible .
Job Type: Full-time
