Job Description
Capital Area Weight and Wellness Center, a leading high-volume Weight and Wellness practice is seeking to add an additional American Board of Obesity Medicine Certified Physician to our team. We are looking for an experienced, dependable provider who has a passion for obesity medicine and long-term patient relationships.
Applicant must be Board Certified in Family Practice or Internal Medicine with American Board of Obesity Medicine certification as well. Previous experience with assessing, developing, and recommending individualized treatment plans for patients seeking weight loss management is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examine patients for a comprehensive evaluation to include medical history, medication use, psychosocial factors, and behaviors that influence a patient's weight loss.
- Performs lab and other diagnostic testing as indicated. Evaluates findings and reviews with the patient as appropriate.
- Formulates diagnosis and identifies medical needs based on evaluation.
- Recommends and designs a treatment plan which may include pharmaceutical, nutritional, behavioral health, and exercise intervention.
- Educate the patient on the plan of care.
- Coordinates plan of care and reviews/collaborates with the referring physician, multidisciplinary treatment team, and specialty services as needed.
- Monitors the effectiveness of the prescribed plan of care and modifies accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Board Certified Family Practice or Internal Medicine
- American Board of Obesity Medicine Certified
- Active Maryland State Medical License
- Current with CME as required by the State of Maryland
- Understanding of CPT Codes and ICD coding
- Understanding of OSHA and HIPPA regulations
- Certification in ACLS
- Excellent and effective verbal communication
- Exceptional bedside manner
