988 Crisis Counselor

Job Summary:

• Avail Solutions provides mental health services for crisis (suicide) calls.
• As a 988 Crisis Counselor, you will establish rapport using an empathetic approach to assess whether the caller is having a mental health crisis. Many callers simply need a friendly voice.
• You will be trained to assist and support callers with anxiety, depression, suicidal, homicidal, and psychotic thoughts/behaviors.
• Document calls with relevant information in an electronic record system.

Requirements:

• Fluent English
• High school graduate
• Computer literate and pass a typing test with a minimum score of 40 WPM with 90% accuracy.
• Communicate clearly using verbal and written skills.
• Work in a call center environment. (This position is NOT remote.)
• Pass a background check.
• Work every other weekend with four days off during a two-week work schedule.

Benefits:

• Starting pay is $18.00/hour
• Bilingual (Spanish) additional $1.10/hr
• Differential pay for 4 PM to 12 AM: $1.00/hr
• Differential pay for 12 AM to 8 AM: $2.00/hr
• Paid Time Off is accrued at 16 days for first year of employment and 19 days after first year.

Schedule: (Available shifts determined on the needs of the company.)

• 8 hour Evening Shift: 4:00 p.m. - 12:30 a.m., five days a week, to include every other weekend
• 8 hour Night Shift: 12:00 a.m.- 8:30 a.m. five days a week, to include every other weekend
• 12 hour Night Shift: 12:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., three days a week, to include every other weekend
