We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Emergency Dispatcher. As an Emergency Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community by efficiently and effectively dispatching emergency services. This is a vital position that requires excellent communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and strong problem-solving abilities.
Duties:
- Receive non-emergency/emergency calls and gather necessary information from callers
- Dispatch appropriate emergency personnel, such as police, fire, or medical responders
- Provide clear and concise instructions to callers in emergency situations
- Utilize phone triage techniques to assess the severity of the situation
- Coordinate with other dispatchers and agencies to ensure efficient response times
- Maintain accurate records of all calls, actions taken, and outcomes
- Analyze situations quickly and make critical decisions to prioritize responses
- Provide support and guidance to callers until help arrives
Skills:
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Ability to negotiate and remain calm in high-stress situations
- Familiarity with law enforcement protocols and procedures
- Accurate data entry skills with attention to detail
