JOB TITLE:HEALTH CLINIC ASSISTANT

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for providing health care, medications and first aid/treatment to sick or injured students. Duties also include inputting student health data into the computer system, scheduling appointments, answering the phones, greeting visitors, ordering medical supplies, updating immunizations and screening students for vision and hearing.

Frequency
1. Input student data into the computer system, such as immunization records, illness/injury data, medications,
daily visits and parental permissions.

2. Dispense medication to authorized students.

3. Provide first aid and/or treatment to sick or injured students.

4. Schedule appointments for health care providers with High Country Health Care, Summit County Nursing and High School Clinic Nurse.

5. Answer telephone, answer questions, provide information to caller and/or direct to appropriate staff member.

6. Order medical supplies for the District.

7. Ensure immunization records are up-to-date and in compliance by checking in new student immunization records, verifying that all current students are up-to-date, sending out notifications to parents when students are
not compliant and arranging for the shot clinic at the high school through Summit County Nursing.

8. File paperwork in students' health charts.

9. Coordinate and screen students for vision and hearing.

10. Participate as an active member of the Summit Youth Services Center Health team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No experience required; experience in the medical field preferred
- First Aid Class/ CPR & AED Certification Required (or obtain within 6 months of hire)
