Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
- Manages and schedules all non-school hour events in Trane Energy Management System for all HVAC building systems
- Must possess a strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Must have a good understanding of how pumps/valves/compressors and associated mechanical equipment operates
- Trouble-shoots HVAC issues, make minor repairs/adjustments
- Responsible for all PM's related to HVAC systems and others as assigned by the head custodian
- Cleans and replaces all filters
- Check and maintains all motors and pumps through school site
- Maintains daily logs of HVAC systems and adds water treatment chemicals as directed
- Assist tradesmen and district maintenance in making repairs and/or scheduled maintenance or cleaning
- Roof inspections as directed
- Makes minor equipment/building repairs. Sends electronic work orders
- Assist in loading and unloading school supplies and equipment
- Assist with deep cleaning during break periods-stripping, scrub & recoat, carpet extraction etc. as directed by head custodian
- Follows all directives of the head custodian in the fulfillment and function of duties and responsibilities
- Works cooperatively with lead custodian to temporarily lead other custodians during break periods as directed by head custodian
- Responsible for specific daily cleaning schedule
- Removes snow from walks, steps and entries per schedule or directed by head custodian
- Mows grounds, trims weeds, small bushes/trees per schedule or directed by head custodian
- Ensures grounds are trash-free per schedule or as directed by head custodian
- Empties wood shop and metal shop dust collectors
- Must establish and maintain a satisfactory working relationship with teachers, students and fellow employees
- Must treat fellow workers with respect and facilitate a non- hostile work environment
Physical Requirements of Position: (HBV X Yes No)
- Have physical ability to lift and carry 56 lbs.
- Have the physical ability to climb an eight-foot ladder and perform custodial tasks
Special Qualification Desired: (Personal Qualities, Education, Skills Needed, Experience, Etc.)
- Must have high degree or GED
- Must be able to direct others to the successful completion of assigned tasks
- Have a thorough knowledge of all cleaning procedures, chemicals & equipment
- 1 year custodial experience
- *** Must obtain CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification within 6 months of placement.***
- Ability to learn how to operate a computer, use email, open attachments and complete electronic work orders.
