Job Description
The purpose of this position is to provide support to National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Capital Projects for, construction support on the Savannah River Site (SRS). The subcontractor will provide a Technical Support Specialist with construction expertise to the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility (SRPPF) project. Safety is a primary responsibility for all employees working on and off SRS. Subcontractor shall obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task.
Provide a Technical Support Specialist support to the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility (SRPPF) project. Primary responsibilities include, support the implementation of construction internal and external programs, procedures, and initiatives. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
• Support the project integrated EVMS services and tools by preparing plans, schedules, cost estimates, budgets, budget sheets, and status reports for all construction activities.
• Analyze the effectiveness of project controls tools to identify potential or existing problems and recommend corrective action.
• Identify and communicate the existing and potential cost and schedule problems.
• Support the Construction Director and Construction CAMs in managing the project cost and schedule.
• Evaluate, develop, and produce reports on physical progress of field activities.
• Perform as a member of the CM team for the SRPPF project reviewing technical project documents accessing Secret Restricted data on a daily basis.
Candidate must have the ability to communicate with managers and professionals regarding construction requirements.
Performance Schedule
A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules, including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has a 30-minute lunch. Work hours in excess of forty hours a week may be required, as authorized by SRNS management.
Qualifications
An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. Subcontract personnel must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. After award, the selected uncleared candidate may be required to apply for a DOE clearance.
