Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate 5th/6th Grade Teacher to join our team at St. Michael Catholic School. The ideal candidate will possess a strong Catholic faith, and demonstrate humility, hunger for knowledge, and intelligence in their personal and professional life. As a 5th/6th Grade Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging lesson plans, fostering a positive learning environment, and nurturing the academic and spiritual growth of our students.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate, and academically rigorous lesson plans in accordance with the school's curriculum and educational standards.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
- Regularly assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and adapting teaching methods as needed to meet individual student needs.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, school administration, and parents to support the overall development and success of students.
- Actively participate in professional development opportunities, faculty meetings, and school events
- Serve as a role model for students by embodying Catholic values.
- Integrate Catholic teachings and values into daily lessons and classroom activities, reinforcing the importance of a strong Catholic faith in the lives of our students.
- Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university
- Valid teaching certification for the appropriate grade level in the state of Washington
- Strong knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic faith
- Demonstrated experience teaching 5th and/or 6th grade students, with a proven track record of success in promoting student achievement.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administration, and parents
- A passion for teaching and dedication to the growth and development of students
