An L.E Smith 3rd Shift Supervisor plays a vital role in the success of our business. As a 3rd Shift Supervisor you will organize and assist with the loading of trucks for shipment of countertops & oversee a small warehouse and fabrication team.
Responsibilities:
- Manages and assists with the loading of trucks for the shipment of countertops.
- Ensures all products being loaded are of good quality.
- Receives material deliveries and verifies quantity and quality.
- Oversees production of a small fabrication team.
- Promotes a healthy and safe work environment by ensuring that teammates follow appropriate procedures and policies in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
- Effectively communicates vital company information, issues, upcoming events, new processes, etc. to peers, team members, customer service, and leadership.
- Responsible for ensuring that all current team members, as well as new associates, receive proper training to be successful in their role.
- Responsible for tracking attendance, examining hours, and reporting to payroll system.
- Administers disciplinary process as needed.
- Promotes continuous improvement by encouraging teammates to recommend ways to gain efficiency.
- Understands Company rules, regulations, and policies and ensures that all are communicated to teammates and adhered to.
- Utilizes Microsoft office tools, the company ERP system, and additional software as needed.
- Works to recognize bottlenecks in workflow and work with team members to resolve them.
- Operates a forklift and/or delivery truck as needed.
- Provides direction and feedback to team through daily interactions as well as conducting performance reviews.
- Promotes L.E. Smith’s vision, core values and goals.
- All other tasks as requested by management.
Requirements of the Role:
- Must have good people skills with the ability to motivate and encourage team members to work efficiently and safely.
- Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must have or be able to obtain a med card for delivery vehicle use.
- Ability to lift and/or carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand/walk for a minimum of 9 hours.
- Must have good vision, color vision, hearing, speaking and finger dexterity skills.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, climb, kneel, reach, and push.
- Ability to read, write, follow instructions, perform mathematical calculations.
- Ability to read prints, a tape measure and operate hand tools.
