Job Description
Summary
Performs duties of a Maintenance Mechanic by evaluating, troubleshooting, and repairing all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment. Be able to understand and communicate problems with team members, supervisors and outside contractors while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for Medical Center patients and support personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Utilize building automation systems.
Respond immediately to disaster notifications.
Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
Repair or replace defective parts. Installs special functional and structural devices.
Repair vertical/horizontal transport systems.
Repair medical gas systems.
Repair vacuum system.
Repair and replace drive chains.
Remove and repair garbage disposals.
Repair medical gas outlets.
Check and repair solenoid valves.
Solder, braze, weld and glue all pipe fittings.
Trouble shoot and clear tube alarms and replace parts on tube system.
Replace motors, belts and bearings.
Replace filters.
Ensure correct wiring and operation.
Replace motor sprockets, sheaves and belts.
Replace bearings on small motors.
Replace roof ventilating equipment.
Have working knowledge of HVAC systems to recognize incorrect problems.
Must possess knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
Must be tube system repair certified, attend fire prevention school, door hardware training and small motor training for chillers.
Must be willing to take the lead and be responsible in servicing misc. equipment.
Must utilize continuing and furthering education in many aspects of hospital operations equipment: Boilers, exhaust fans, fragrant systems, tube system,
Must have a willingness to take lead in care of and responsibility for many aspects of hospital equipment
Must be willing to take lead in cost savings and best use of many decisions of operation of maintenance
Check in as needed to ensure Team Leader is aware of your status.
Assist other Facilities personnel as needed. Consult Team Leader in times of uncertainty.
Complete Aims time sheets daily.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Two year certificate from college or technical school.
Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience
