Job Description
- Safely operate machine door (safety gate) to start a cycle on a semi-automatic job, &remove part(s) from the mold, sometimes using hand tools and/or gloves
- Neatly and safely trim excess material from parts using a knife or clippers
- Inspect part to ensure quality using customer & company standards and removing any substandard parts so that only high quality parts are sent to customer
- Keep scrap level low by reporting any abnormal defects to supervisor or molding technician in order for them to make adjustments to production process
- Neatly bag or box quality product per customer specifications, & complete accurate labels & tags to include necessary information to affix to bag or box
- Safely operate grinder for scrap plastic & defective parts for re-use while avoiding contamination of material
- Maintain consistent cycle time & avoid unnecessary downtime by opening & closing safety gate without delay
- Set up & remove equipment for production runs & return inserts, books, tables, & chairs to proper storage area while keeping it clean & organized
- Other duties as assigned
- High school Diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to read, write, & comprehend simple instructions and effectively present information on one-on-one situations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, & divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, & decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, & percent, & the ability to draw & interpret bar graphs
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move 10 lbs., & frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
