Job Description
A leading transportation company is seeking a dynamic Truck Freight Sales Executive to promote and sell transportation services to local companies in the New York City area. The Transportation 3PL Truck Freight Sales Exec will play a critical role in developing, securing, growing, and maintaining revenue and margin for the corporation, focusing on designated accounts.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships through face-to-face sales calls on all assigned accounts, including approved entertainment activities as per Sales Management. Penetrate accounts at multiple levels within organizations, including the executive level. The 3PL Truck Freight Sales Exec will also build relationships with potential future accounts.
Sales Plans & Strategy: Develop and implement sales plans for primary accounts to achieve specified revenue and margin goals. Strategy and planning will undergo review and approval at the Division Sales Management level. The 3PL Truck Sales Exec will be responsible for effectively managing the process and final submission, tracking and ensuring profitability, and reviewing key metrics monthly.
Sales Research: Conduct market research and analysis to uncover new potential business opportunities. Accounts may be added or dropped following established procedures with the review and approval of Sales Management.
Sales Systems: Maintain CRM systems to accurately reflect territory activity, contact information, and opportunities. Utilize the MS Office suite for extensive presentation and information sharing, both internally and externally.
Job Requirements:
- 7 years' experience in 3PL Truck Freight Sales.
- B.A. degree preferred (Masters' strongly desired).
- Prior healthcare and/or pharmaceutical industry knowledge preferred.
- Proven ability to sell and service specific vertical markets.
- Corporate or National Account Transportation Sales experience.
- Premium Transportation Service.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite of services.
- Strong presentation skills required.
- Advanced Territory Management skills preferred.
- Effective collaboration skills.
- Fiscal accountability.
- Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000+.
- Quarterly Bonuses based on territory goals & individual performance.
- Mileage reimbursement: $0.655 per mile.
