Job Designation

We are currently looking for a skilled 3D Artist to join our team.  This is a temporary, 3-month contract.  The right candidate will hopefully be interested in discussing full-time employment opportunities that extend past the 3-month contract, but such a position is not currently guaranteed nor being offered.  Only apply if you are willing to join our team on a temporary 3-month contract.

The Creative Content team creates 3D assets for our virtual weapons systems to provide interactive, realistic training simulations for law enforcement and military personnel. 

This position potentially will assist with all aspects of the 3D content creation process but will mainly be focused on creating environment related assets for a Unity based application during the contract period.  The right candidate needs to be attentive to details, highly organized, and able to take direction, follow technical instructions, and work independently.  The candidate should be comfortable with our product and working with military and law enforcement related subject matter.

This position reports to the Art Director.

All applicants must submit a portfolio showcasing applicable art and technical skills and such submissions must be approved by the Art Director before the applicant is qualified for further review.

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Taking direction from the Art Director and matching current quality and style of content.
• Working independently or cooperatively, and prioritizing duties with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
• Giving accurate time estimates and meeting deadlines.
• Keeping within system constraints and project guidelines.
• 3D modeling, UV layout, texturing, rigging, animating, lighting, rendering, image editing, etc.
• Creating environments, structures, vehicles, vegetation, characters, targets, props, weapons, etc.
• Using PBR texturing and baking methods for multiple engines. (Unity, Unreal, CryEngine)
• Working with high/ low-resolution assets, pipelines, and methods to create real-time ready assets.
• Exporting and importing assets for use in real-time engines. (Unity, Unreal, CryEngine)
• Converting pre-existing assets for use in alternative engines (e.g. CryEngine or Unreal to Unity).
• Setting up assets in varying engines, including materials, collisions, blueprints, etc.
• Troubleshooting technical issues and problem solving.
• Using industry standard software (Maya, 3DS Max, Photoshop, Substance Painter, Illustrator, Character Creator, Unity, Unreal, CryEngine…)
• Ability to master new skills, pipelines, methods, and software solutions quickly.
• Asset management and organization.
• Sharing skills, knowledge, and experience with coworkers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3-5 years professional experience with creating assets optimized for real-time applications.
• Strong proficiency in the industry standard software listed above.
• Ability to fulfill the Core Job Responsibilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc…

Education: 

• High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's or greater preferred. 
• Applicable experience, demonstrated skills, and an approved portfolio outweigh degrees in the qualification process.

• Presagis Creator
• AR/VR dev
• Vector Graphics
• Photogrammetry
• Video editing
• Military or Law Enforcement work experience

Travel and/or Driving Requirements:

• Travel is unlikely and not expected during the 3-month contract.
• This could change depending on project requirements.

Physical Demands:

• Extended time in sitting position, prolonged use of computer.
• Beneficial to be able to lift 30-50 pounds to help move office-related equipment, if needed.
