Job description

Axiom
Axiom Custom Products is a fabrication shop of 85 folks that services the creative, events, retail, and construction industries. We leverage our digital manufacturing technologies, fabrication expertise, and decades of trial and error to deliver the highest quality products - an outcome unmatched by others in our industry. We offer our clients extensive in-house capabilities that allow us to take on projects at any stage of development from concept to installation.
When it comes to our team, they enjoy excellent pay, great benefits, including medical, dental, vision for the employee at $140/month (with additional cost options for dependents). We offer 401k and ROTH investment options. After year one you accrue 20 days of PTO, yep, your read that right! Combined with paid holidays, our benefits are some of the best in our industry.
We offer an engaging and fun work environment providing opportunity to learn, grow, and advance. In any CNC role, including Mastercam programmers, you must be willing to operate or learn to operate CNC machines like our 3-axis Thermwood routers, Kern laser, Amada press brake HG1303, minimally, and potentially even our edge-bander, 5-axis Royce router, and 7-axis Kuka robot.
Role Overview
Axiom is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our team. Someone with an overall software acumen who seeks growth and development opportunities for the department and oneself. As a programmer, you will be responsible for interpreting engineered drawings and CAD models, utilizing the correct strategy in Mastercam using best practices, cutting and troubleshooting issues during operation. Programmers perform quality checks to ensure parts meet specification and minimize rework. You will work closely with other departments and report to the CNC Department Manager.
Schedule
The typical work schedule is M-F, but the role also requires flexible hours and availability for overtime, as needed in the evening or on the weekend to meet production deadlines. Schedules can vary. Weekend work can happen from time to time.
Career Growth
For folks with the right interest and aptitude, there are a multitude of career paths at Axiom. The teams outside CNC include account managers, designers, engineers, project managers, and operations/purchasing. If you want to take what you learned about parts into fabrication, you could become a builder in wood fab or a metal fabricator. If you are keen on learning Sketchup or SolidWorks, you could become a Designer or Engineer. If you enjoy the idea of working with accounts to direct production you might be interested in a Project Coordinator or Project Manager role. Axiom's PMs manage all aspects of a project through budgeting, engineering, procurement, fabrication, pack-out, installation/strike, and closeout. Or perhaps you are interested in Account Management. The AM is responsible for client success, client growth, and maintaining and developing relationships. There are lots of options.
Obviously, we have a need for a Mastercam Programmer, so we aren't looking to make a fast transition, but we want you to know the growth opportunity exists. This isn't a dead end job.
