Summary: 

Perform a wide variety of diversified and exacting duties to plan, lay out and install company and vendor supplied parts, fittings, subassemblies to produce finished custom chemical feed units per print. Use discretion and judgment to devise methods and assembly/fitting techniques necessary to build intricate units to exacting standards.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Requirements: Welder Qualification Test Records enumerating the specification (i.e. ASME SECTION IX) and the results, with the Testing facility’s acceptance (i.e. Radiographic results).

Experience: Minimum 5 years of welding background including both MIG and TIG welding; education and experience will be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to run sheer, drill press, cut off saw, spot weld, pipe weld, and orbital weld
  • Able to use a variety of hand tools, levels, squares, and tapes ETC
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications and manuals.
  • Must be able to follow standard welding techniques to fabricate all types of frames skids & platforms
  • Must consistently demonstrate the highest standards in both the quality and quantity of work performed and is capable of troubleshooting and resolving difficult fitting and assembly tasks on any skid job
  • Ability to multi-task and perform in a dynamic environment while maintaining a positive attitude and energy
  • Strong team player, good work ethic and ability to be flexible and work within a collaborative team environment to meet production and company needs

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform operations needed to assemble, fit, align, and mount tanks, pumps, valves, control enclosures, subassemblies and piping
  • Cut, bend, glue, thread or weld piping
  • Follow standard welding procedures, established routine drawings, written and verbal instructions, management of Kanban area daily
  • Lay out reference and location points
  • Routinely perform MIG/TIG welding
  • Set-up and regulate equipment for welding, some brazing, and silver solder operations
  • Perform flat, vertical and horizontal manual tack and seam welding, maintaining length of arc and speed to produce appropriate fusion of material bead
  • Use fixtures to position, clamp and block parts to avoid distortion
  • Perform welds on special products and operate other equipment and machines
  • Clean work piece and remove excess weld, slag, and spatter
  • Move stock material as required
  • Test tanks for leakage
  • Maintain equipment in good operating condition and safe work area
  • Participation in Kazan, continuous improvement and 6S activities as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work overtime as assigned

The employee is required to both see and hear.  The employee must be able to walk, sit and stand. The employee occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs., and occasionally kneels and bends.  

Work Environment: The environment is in a manufacturing setting. The manufacturing environment is subject to moderate changes in temperature and the employee will be exposed to typical hazards of noise, flying debris, and overhead hazards requiring the use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
