Job Title: 2nd Shift Supervisor
Location: Menomonie, WI
Schedule: Full time salary position, Monday through Friday (Start time is approximately 15:00 and expected work week is 40-55 hrs, hours may vary)
Pay Rate: $43,000 - $45,000
Primary Responsibilities
As the 2nd Shift Supervisor your primary duty is for the efficient management of all drivers and routing originating from the Windsor, WI base. This position can be labor intensive. You would be working with both bulk mail and Ford motor parts. You would facilitate the organization and routing of all incoming freight. This includes, but is not limited to, sorting and routing all freight, giving direction to all drivers and warehouse staff, driver safety, managing schedules and time off, making sure routes run on time and customer service when it comes to all of our customers. You will also need to have strong problem solving skills when it comes to employees calling in and items getting miss sorted and delivered. You will report directly to the Operations Manager. Communication among all shifts and the corporate office is the key to running a successful and efficient base.
Other responsibilities and duties
- Be a leader. You will lead by example and create a strong team working environment.
- Manage labor hours and miles per route.
- Making sure drivers are inspecting their vehicles before and after route.
- Addressing vehicle issues before they become a large scale issue (ex: oil changes, tire rotation, fixing lights out, etc.)
- Oversight of all drivers on your shift. This means disciplinary action if needed.
- Required to be able to multi task. This can be a fast paced industry and you must be able to roll with everything that is coming at you.
- Organizing routing from different customers to other bases and locations.
- Be able to come up with solutions to routing issues, such as weather delays, traffic, road construction, accidents, etc.
- Be able to understand the reporting of all of the scanning reports and be able to communicate those findings with the Operations Manager or Regional Operations Manager.
- Communication to all employees at your base and all others, along with communication with all of our customers.
- Be able to drive all different types of vehicles (you will be required at times to drive routes or parts of routes when needed)
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Have had a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years.
- Have a valid DOT medical card.
- Pass pre-employment testing (drug screen, DOT physical and background check).
- Have an acceptable MVR as per our company Fleet Safety Policy.
- Be fluent in English both written and spoken.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory/management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 1 year of delivery experience
- Customer service experience
- Forklift experience or certification
- Class A CDL preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF JOB
- Ability to lift cases up to 60 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to push/pull cages filled with auto parts or bulk mail parcels
- Ability to push/pull either 2 wheeler or pallet of cases/tubs
- Ability to operate a pallet jack
