Job Description
Volt is immediately hiring 2nd Shift Soldering Assembler for a local leading manufacturing company in Scripps Ranch.
As a Soldering Assembler you will:
- Reads and interprets Work Release Information, Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Written, and Verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
- Reads and follows assembly building documentation/information such as Production drawings (released, unreleased or obsolete), Sample assemblies, and Informal (hand-drawn or unreleased) assembly drawings
- Tends to machines that shape, press, or mix glues and urethanes.
- Adjusts and trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
- Performs in-line inspection to ensure assemblies and parts all meet production specifications
- Perform repetitive, one-piece flow producing 1,000-1,200 of the same parts each day. Will rotate through cell but is high volume repetitive work.
- Perform tasks such as soldering, assembling, and disassembling by screwing, bolting, and gluing
- Performs soldering and de-soldering of ceramic materials
- Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color coding parts and assemblies
- Assembly/disassembly and test of mechanical assemblies using both traditional and non-traditional tooling such as calipers, micrometer, depth gauge, screwdriver, torque wrench, standard wrench, hammer, etc
This is a full-time Temp-to-Hire opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Requires a high school education or equivalent and some degree of vocational or technical training and 0-2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of electronic components and proficiency in electro-mechanical assembly.
- Experienced in using hand tools and some power tools (power drills, sanders, small lathe etc.)
- Basic level understanding of mechanical hardware (nuts, bolts, screws, etc.) assembly.
- Basic level knowledge of blueprints, Bill of Materials and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language at a level that allows for the comprehension of detailed work instructions and the legible completion of paperwork.
- Able to interpret drawings, perform modifications and rework assemblies.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
- The selected candidate will be required to provide proof of right to work in the United States.
Schedule: Monday to Friday 2nd Shift 3:30pm-12:30am + Overtime
**Must be able to train 1st shift for a few weeks
Pay Rate: $17-19 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
Experience with the following is a Plus:
- Knowledge of 5S methodology a plus
- Experience and training in Lean methodologies
