Job Description
The Safety & Security Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Director and Manager of Safety & Security in providing leadership, guidance, and support to the safety committee and loss prevention team in the areas of guest service, training (e.g. safety awareness, OSHA standards, emergency procedures, etc.), scheduling, and performance management for the overall successful day-to-day operations.
Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following):
- Patrol all areas of the property; secure rooms; assist guests with room access
- Monitor Closed Circuit Televisions and alarm systems
- Authorize, monitor, and document access to secured areas
- Follow up on all unusual activities in and around the property that would impair the wellbeing of external and internal guests
- Defuse disturbances in accordance with Hotel policies and procedures
- Escort unwelcome persons from the property
- Assist external and internal guests during emergency situations
- Respond to accidents, contact EMS or administer first aid/CPR as required
- Assist the Director and Manager of Safety & Security in administering fire prevention programs and emergency preparedness
- Assist the Director and Manager of Safety & Security in the oversight of all loss prevention operations to include but not limited to; patrol process, emergency response, investigations (initial & follow up) for all guest and Internal Guest related incidents, electronic key system
- Assist the Director and Manager of Safety & Security in training all Internal Guests on the four parts of OSHA
- Comply with applicable federal, state and local law and safety regulations
- Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts
- Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance
- Provide personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients
- Train all new hires on loss prevention policies and procedures
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
Position Requirements:
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
- Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment
- Three (3) years of experience in the safety/security/loss prevention field
- One (1) year of supervisor/ management experience in the safety/security/loss prevention field
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, come of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
- Must have the ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and work independently is required
Shift time 2pm-10:30pm, shift times can vary due to business needs.
