Under the direction of the Director of Packaging, the Packaging Lead is responsible for overseeing all job functions of the packaging dept. Also, responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (sops) and Good Manufacturing Prates (gmps) that are in effect assuming the quality and the quantity of product produced.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises and coordinates activities of associates engaged in packaging products and materials for shipment
- Studies Work order to ascertain type and quantity of product, containers to be used, and other packaging requirements.
- Inspects products prior to packaging
- Observes packaging operations and inspects bottles to verify conformance
- Trains workers on SOP’s and cGMPs
- Ensures Safety rules, GMPs and SOP’s are being followed
- Assists with all job functions on the packaging line
- Personal responsibility for following safety rules, SOPs and cGMPs guidelines
- Ensure proper lot number and expiration date are applied to labeled product
- Fills in for Manager when out of the facility
- Coach and counsel associates
- Other duties as assigned
- Must comply with GMP requirements; specific functions and documents will be discussed in GMP and on the job training
- Must have 3-4 years of experience in a packaging or Production environment and at least 3 leading associates
- Must be able to read/write English
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred
- Must be available for overtime when needed
- Ability to work autonomously and make independent decisions
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and multi-task
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office a plus
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals, and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish).
- Ability to work in a physically challenging environment, including bending, twisting, and standing for up to 8 hours is this something you would be comfortable with
