OTR Supervisor

Department: Operations Job Status: Full-Time Reports to: Operations Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

This position requires effective supervision of drivers, routes, and employees. The main responsibility is to meet operational and productivity goals to drive customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will successfully work in a dynamic environment that focuses on delivering continuous improvement to the customer and will oversee the development of new and current staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review staff performance and give appropriate feedback in a timely fashion
• Manage staff scheduling, vacations and payroll
• Coordinate daily tasks and activities
• Manage and retain a designated fleet of drivers.
• Manage and retain office employees.
• Can and will enforce company policies and expectations
• Create a safe and professional atmosphere for staff and drivers
• Build good relationships with employees-be approachable
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management

DESIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Leadership skills that will assist in developing staff members
• Dispatch and/or Customer Service Experience.
• Transportation experience preferred
• Motivational skills to encourage workers to achieve more
• Create a safe and professional atmosphere for staff and drivers
• Proven problem-solving ability
• Flexible scheduling when needed to assist in coverage of management vacation/time off/time away from the office

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Four-year college degree can replace experience required.
• Two Year Commitment

EXPERIENCE:

Two years of management, operations, or customer experience preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook email required. Knowledge of TMW software is a plus. Must have the ability to learn new programs as necessary.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Solid work history and willingness to successfully function in a team environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a full-time position with an on-site requirement.
