Mapes and Sprowl powered by UPG is looking to fill a Machine operator positions in their Elk Grove Village location. Mapes & Sprowl is looking for a detail-oriented candidate that is eager to learn and grow in the fast-paced environment. Any relevant steel experience is preferred, but not required. We strive to build strong relationships with our customers by providing high level of service, value-add opportunities, and professionalism in all interactions, allowing us to become a valued member of their supply chain and production teams.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Run the machine, feed steel coils into machine
- Remove finished product and securely tie with wire
- Pack product in a pallet ready to be annealed, if necessary
- Clean scrap from aisle way and keep work area clean
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following safety standards
Position Requirements
- Experience manufacturing environment
- Experience in Machine Operator/understanding on how to operate machines
- Experience in steel industry and with defects common to steel, preferred
- Must be able to lift up to and including 50 pounds
- Positive demeanor, dependability, and strong work ethic
