This position assists in all functions of the General Weld department in order to ensure efficient and timely production while maintaining a high-quality standard. In addition, will assist the department in providing necessary support functions to other production areas. This position also ensures employee compliance with Kinze policies, practices, and core values.
Duties & Accountabilities:
- Assist the supervisor with establishing performance expectations, employee coaching, performance appraisals, and all disciplinary issues.
- Responsible for employee labor reporting and quality.
- Monitors that employee and department housekeeping and maintenance activities are carried out.
- Assists with maintaining the location and accountability of all assigned workers and is primarily involved in seeing that first and periodic part inspection procedures are followed.
- Maintain employee records including attendance, leave requests, and work assignments
- Assist with employee orientation and training needs
- Present employee communications including department and company announcements
- Conducts safety inspections to ensure the safety of all employees
- Models and enforces safety and quality policies and procedures
- Assists with compliance on ongoing safe and compliant production practices are being applied by all workers in assigned areas.
- Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of the general weld department
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend blueprints
- Must be able to receive daily assigned tasks from the supervisor and effectively relay that to team members
- Strong one-on-one and group communication skills, with demonstrated ability to adapt communication styles for increased effectiveness
- Must have demonstrated work ethic and work habits that exemplify Kinze standards and policies
- Previous team lead or supervisory experience highly regarded
- Must pass company lift truck certification
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Must be quality and safety-oriented
- Must have high attention to detail and a sense of urgency
- Ability to read, comprehend, follow, and apply work instructions and procedures
- Accurate problem identification and solving skills are preferred
