2nd Shift Grinding Operator

2nd Shift Grinding Operator Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Operator to join our team. As an Operator, you will be responsible for operating various machinery and equipment to fabricate and machine parts according to specifications. This is a hands-on role that requires precision, and attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• All work must be performed in accordance with company’s safety policy.

• Reading and following process instructions.

• Safely grind metal parts, break off sand molds and gating from castings.

• Perform pre and post check of all parts for defects.

• Perform quality inspections to ensure metals meet proper specifications.

• Be able to train and assist new operators.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Keep work area clean, neat, and orderly.

• Work in a team environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to stand/walk 8 hours per shift. Frequent bend, stoop, twist. Occasionally squat, climb, reach above shoulder level, kneel, balance, and push/pull. Frequently lift and carry up to 40 lbs. Must be able to do simple and firm grasping with both hands. Must be able to work in an environment that is moderately noisy and includes exposure to dust, solvents, grease, oil, and paints. Must be able to safely work in areas of lift truck traffic.

NON-PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to listen to and understand verbal instructions. Must be able to remember, reason, and analyze. Must be able to demonstrate mechanical abilities and aptitude.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

• Operate air tools including but not limited to grinders, sanders, impact hammers, basic hand tools, and hoist.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.50 - $21.50 per hour

Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week
