Job Description:

Development Operations is seeking a technician within its Instrumentation Operations and Test department.  Development Operations is responsible for the validation of developmental military and commercial jet engines. These engines are subsequently produced for use in a variety of government and commercial applications to include the F35 Lightning II, F22 Raptor, Airbus, and Embraer jet applications. You will be taking data from live engine runs on the test stands to include full military afterburner runs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will perform a wide variety of hands-on technical tasks in support of engine instrumentation and test facility readiness for both development and production engine testing.
  • The selected applicant will have the sought-after opportunity to work in a first-class accredited calibration lab, configure and operate structural, performance and advanced measurement data recording systems, as well as facility control systems in the test organization.
  • Configuration and operation of flight test instrumentation sensors and data acquisition systems, sensor installation, termination, and egress will be provided in the instrumentation operations organization.

THIS IS FOR A SECOND SHIFT POSITION

Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship

Basic Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of technical engineering experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A good balance of applied mechanical and electrical aptitude 
  • Strong background in MS Office applications and computer operation
  • Experience in other signal acquisition or processing software
  • Associates degree in Engineering Technology

Travel: Less than 25%

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility

The salary range for this role is 36,000 USD - 72,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
