2Nd Shift (2Pm - 10Pm) Machine Operator - Rotary Die Cutter

POSITION TITLE: Converting Machine Operator (Rotary Die Cut)

REPORTS TO: Converting Shift Supervisor

The incumbent will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot the assigned die-cut machine. Follow pre-production, make ready, and production run tasks. Responsible for accuracy and completeness of order, dies, set-up and installation, stock, load and feed of material, and accuracy of cutting. The operator oversees the printing and/or die-cutting of quality products in a safe and efficient manner. The operator will be responsible for knowing how to perform all the specific job duties associated with the operator and assistant position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Safely operate machine that produces corrugated packaging.
• Set up and run machines to maximize production.
• Stop or reset the machine when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
• Regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature, dimension, pressure, and register settings.
• Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material.
• Adjust machine components and machine tension and pressure according to the size or processing angle of the product.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
• Set up the machine from job to job - based on Roto-Cut DC operational proficiencies
• Properly and successfully interact with packers
• Understands Lock-out/Tag-out procedures required for opening and closing Roto-cut DC
• Perform and record all quality inspections on all orders. (Quality Assurance Report)
• Must adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety processes and protocols.
• Meet and follow all customers' specification sheets and requirements for printing, slotting, and scoring.
• Ability and knowledge to understand and use printing plates, ink systems, and die boards.
• Understand all safety procedures and precautions to ensure the protection of personnel doing repairs and machine cleaning - including replacing and rotating blankets.
• Ensuring the production floor and machine area are clean, accessible, and safe.

• Must be committed to work assigned shift with the occasional mandatory overtime when required.

• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
• Ability to perform clerical duties on the production report.
• Ability to apply concepts of high school-level math.
• Understand and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safety standards
• Ability to work in a timely and productive manner, using problem-solving techniques, and meet customer needs.
• Pre-employment drug screening required.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

• Experience within the Corrugated industry.
• Experience with operational excellence or continuous improvement programs is highly desirable.
• Prior 6-12 months of experience as a (Rotary Die Cutter) Asst. Machine Operator.
• 12-24 months of work experience in a manufacturing environment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
