Big Rock Sports, a leading distributor of hunting and fishing equipment, is seeking an outstanding individual to join our team at our Charlotte, NC Big Rock Sports facility as a Warehouse Team Lead for first shift, Monday through Friday, every other Saturday.

Job Purpose:

The Warehouse Team Lead assist supervisors at the facility as related to scanners, sorters, and material handlers while maintaining the highest possible production and quality levels. To constantly monitor facility safety and security to provide the most secure safe environment for employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist supervisors in identification and correction of problem areas.
• Assist in the training of full-time, part-time, and temporary warehouse personnel.
• Assist in compiling and monitoring of quality and production of personnel.
• Maintain high standards for safety, security, and quality practices in the warehouse.
• Maintain high standards for warehouse cleanliness and order.
• Perform as a communications link between management and associates.
• Knowledge and ability to work in the areas of operations including:
  • Picking
  • Packing
  • Hazmat
  • Inventory
  • Palletizing
  • Equipment Handling
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • WDS
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Successful completion of background and drug testing.
• 2 to 3 years of distribution experience in mulitple areas.
• High School diploma or its equivalent with a minimum of one (1) year lead experience or warehouse industry preferred.
• Proven interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to delegate and prioritize work.
• Working knowledge of computers and programs specific to operations and operations reporting including MS Office (Excel, MS Word).
• Microsoft outlook
• Knowledge of warehouse safety and security practices.
• Ability to package, label, load/unload hazardous materials

Experience and Training:

• Applicants must be in good standing
• Experience leading in a warehouse setting greatly preferred
• Ability to multi-task
• Communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, customers and the general public
• Decision making skills, including the ability to solve practical problems

Hours of operation: 1:30pm to 10pm; overtime and Satrudays when needed
