8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings' private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. ("THL"), a private equity firm.
Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The PSO (Product Storage Operator) is a key piece to our manufacturing puzzle. Our PSO provides operational support to our packaging area; this role supports the continuous flow of packaging goods to machine operators, assists in machine operators in packaging and changeover processes, provides additional cleaning support, and backfills for machine operators as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with supervisor, set up operators, and machine operators as a team, to fully optimize the production flow to all packaging equipment
• Minimize food waste generated by performing required quality control checks on tailings, scalpers, screens, and magnets. Carefully inspect product in pans to ensure product quality meets standards, and that appropriate packaging is provided for product. Transfer clean products into edible regrind barrels or bins. Ensure all catch pans are emptied and kept clean throughout the shift.
• Use GMPs, manufacturing best practices, and standard operating procedures to monitor product quality throughout shift as levels and bins unload, and ensure product quality meeting packing standards. Reject poor quality product into appropriate bins and label. Ensure all regrind log sheets are accurately filled out to ensure compliant tracking
• Properly tag bins and barrels with appropriate labels for final disposition. Operate lift to feed white bins of product back into packaging system, and use barrel dumper transfer edible short and long goods product into bins and back into system and ensure edible regrind materials are covered always
• Perform egg to non-egg changeover process accurately and complete proper documentation to ensure compliance with food standards. Keep product flow system (belts, transfer points, wipers, etc.) clean, and remove bin tags as they empty to avoid mixing and contaminating product
• Report any safety, quality or mechanical problems to supervisor as they arise throughout the shift
• Fill out work order requests as necessary to ensure minimal downtime, and accurate and timely production. Submit work orders to supervisor in a timely manner
• Other duties, as assigned

Education and Experience Required:

• High school Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
• Previous manufacturing experience
• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and overtime

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

• Previous experience operating a forklift or reach truck
• Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred
