POSITION SUMMARY:
The Certified Medical Assistant will perform a variety of patient care activities: vitals, weight, height, patient assessment, history, health complaints, injections, EKG recordings and suture removals to name a few. This person will assist provider with minor procedures, prepare exam rooms and ready instruments needed for patient appointments. Will be required to contact insurance companies, pharmacies, hospitals, and other physician offices. Must have detailed knowledge of medical terminology, pharmaceuticals, and be able to communicate appropriate medical information to all clients. May be responsible for rotating to other CMA positions: Call, Dr., CNP, and Float. This person will also be able to perform a variety of other skills, such as phone operations, scheduling, filing, and use of office equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school graduate or the equivalent required.
2. Graduate of a MEDICAL ASSISTANT training program OR at least three years of work experience in patient care, preferably in a medical group setting; If not certified, must be eligible for CMA certification.
3. CMA certification required; If not certified, must obtain certification within 6 months of hire
4. Clinical experience in a Physician Office preferred.
5. Experience with insurance precertification processes preferred.
6. CPR certification required.
7. Must be able to work irregular hours.
