2024 Summer Programs - Robotics Program: Teachers, Grade 5-8

Description:Looking for an opportunity to support middle school youth in a hands-on, differentiated, project-based Robotics Program? Our Middle Grades Robotics Summer Program is an innovative collaboration with the Somerville High School Robotics Team, supported by the Somerville Public Schools. We are looking for teachers to inspire students to learn about engineering and robotics, by teaching one class of 15-20 middle grades students. Duties include taking attendance, communicating with families, redirecting behaviors in a positive and supportive way, and assisting with additional tasks as needed.
Middle Grades (5-8) Summer Robotics Program - Teacher:

• Teach a group of 15-20 students in grades 5-8 about LEGO robotics engineering
• Work collaboratively with SHS Robotics Youth Mentors
• Willingness to learn and jump in enthusiastically
• Be able to quickly build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff
• Excited to serve as a role model for youth
• Must be available Monday, July 8 through Friday, July 12, and Monday, July 22 through Friday July 26, 2024. Availability Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19 is preferable but not required.

Terms of Employment:
Seasonal Employment
Session 1: Monday July 8 through Friday July 12 from 8:15am - 12:45pm
Session 2: Monday July 15 through Friday 19 (Summer SPELL push-in, 8:15am - 12:45pm)
Session 3: Monday July 22 through Friday July 16 from 8:15am - 12:45pm
Salary: $35 per hour
