Job description

Department Summary
Public Affairs & Access is a multi-disciplinary organization that includes Access & Policy Strategy, Channel & Contract Management, Citizenship & Employee Engagement, Corporate Communications, Evidence for Access, External Affairs, and Strategic Operations. Our mission is to drive positive change in the healthcare system so that every patient can access our science. We lead the development of meaningful partnerships, forward-looking pricing, contracting and distribution strategies, and proactive policy solutions that advance a more equitable and hopeful future for all of those who need our therapies.
About the Internship
Access Technology & Infrastructure (ATI) is seeking a Summer Intern to support our work in building and deploying best-in-class infrastructure (processes, technology, tools) to enable the Future of Access and Contracting (FoAC), one of the key strategic priorities in CMG (Commercial, Medical, Government Affairs). The ambition of FoAC is "Accelerating patient access and funding tomorrow's breakthroughs by advancing the value of our medicines with customers, simplifying processes, and maximizing net revenue".
The intern will also be encouraged to gain cross-functional experience across Public Affairs & Access to better understand how we leverage our communications, market access, government affairs, and externally-facing capabilities to drive impact for our patients, our people, and our communities where we live and work. Interns will have peer-to-peer support, networking opportunities, and career development opportunities with other interns in Public Affairs & Access as well as throughout Genentech.
This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on site.
Key Responsibilities
Access Technology & Infrastructure is looking for an intern to help the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) product area deliver solutions in support of the FoAC ambition aimed at reducing cycle times and enabling faster decision making related to Genentech's commercial contracting activities.
  • Partner with the product team, access & contract subject matter experts, and vendors to gather requirements to support the design of new processes and technology solution features
  • Support the product team by developing project plans, coordinating with IT partners & subject matter experts, and tracking milestones
  • Aid in the development of communications, user resources, and training sessions to support the release of new process & technology solutions

Program Highlights
  • Intensive 12-weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
  • Program start dates are in May/June (Summer).
  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
